  2. Vancouver 34 1998 ‘SOLD’

Comments Off on Vancouver 34 1998 ‘SOLD’

Vancouver 34 built in 1998 Classic Cutter. She has just had all standing & running rigging replaced & has the more favoured in boom furling main fitted 2010. Powered by the ever reliable Yanmar 27hp  engine & straight shaft. Double vee berth in forward cabin, 3 berths in the very nicely finished saloon & a spacious quarter berth to starboard. Full teak decks & capping rails & equipped to circumnavigate or to cruise in. 1 of the most solid & well regarded sailing boats on the market.

he Vancouver 34 is every inch an offshore cruiser. The interior accommodation is designed for use at sea, for long periods if required, has good sea berths but still has a comfortably furnished saloon for relaxation when in harbour.

Under sail the Vancouver 34 has a light helm and is perfectly balanced in any wind strength, making it easy work for the helmsman or self steering gear.

The standing rigging is strong (some say over specified) and supports the cutter rig.

The Vancouver 34 is surprisingly fast under sail and high average speeds are possible which can be maintained for long periods: the ideal passagemaker. The Vancouver 34 is a modern “classic” and despite her long keel and heavy displacement is easy to manoeuvre under sail or power. She is first choice for serious cruising.

  3. Hallberg Rassey 31 ‘SOLD’

Comments Off on Hallberg Rassey 31 ‘SOLD’

    Halberg Rassey 31 1995.

The HR 31 Mk I is a true Hallberg-Rassy, with the same high level of quality and elegance as her larger sisters.

The interior woodwork and joinery is done in the selected mahogany that has become a Hallberg-Rassy trademark. The interior is extremely well laid out for her size. A full size navigation table, a spacious galley, saloon, large head and shower compartment, and two private staterooms gives you the volume and space in our Hallberg-Rassy 31, that you would normally find on a much larger boat.

The cockpit is comfortable and easily accommodates your guest, and has generous capabilities.

Designed by Germán Frers, the Hallberg-Rassy 31 has excellent sailing characteristics. The boat is well balanced, and gently moves through the water, pointing and going to weather like no other 31 foot performance cruiser. She is easily single handed, as all lines are lead aft to the cockpit.

We quote from the Swedish yachting magazine Båtnytt:
“Extremely spacious, light and inviting interior. The sailing and sea-going qualities are in a class of its own. Being a cruiser, the speed through water and the angle towards the wind is quite amazing. A modern, safe cruiser that gives its owner great satisfaction.”

    Designer’s comments:

“Sailing with safety and comfort at a good speed are the main characteristics offered by the HR 31. This medium displacement modern hull is fitted with efficient keel, rudder and a modern comprehensive fractional rig. The result is a boat, which can cope with all weather conditions safely, and will also give the owner and his family many hours of pleasant sailing.

The interior is exceptionally well laid out giving an air of spaciousness unusual for a boat of this size. There are two separate double cabins, one forward and one aft, also a large toilet aft. With a full size saloon, ample galley and complete chart table, it offers the amenities and comfort of a larger yacht. There is excellent protection from the weather in the aft cockpit. The seats are two metres long. Part of the starboard seat lifts up to give access to a very generous stowage area.

For a yachtsman not interested in the latest racing gimmicks but in a proper 9.5 metre boat with a more than respectable speed, with good cruising attributes, the HR 31 will be very hard to beat.”
